The one going counter-clockwise as the wires go into the center of the coil are YIN.

The one going clockwise as the wires go into the center of the coil are YANG.

In traditional Chinese philosophy, the concept of clockwise and counterclockwise energy forces is closely related to the concept of yin and yang.
